Judging & Schedule
Judging will be done in three stages:
All contestants will be judged on the following criteria:
Attire: Have you captured the essence of the era you are portraying? Detail is the key.
Personality: We are looking for those that exemplify true beauty - inside and out! Get ready to shine!
Crowd Response: Did you capture the audience’s hearts? What was your interaction with our exhibitors, attendees, and car owners? How will they remember you? Be memorable!
Friday evening contestants will be introduced to the audience by their “stage name” and one fun fact about herself showing the judges their inner and outer beauty in their chosen style. The contestants will then have an opportunity to mingle and take pictures with patrons and a selection of classic cars that will be in attendance. Contestants will be judged on their congeniality. Judges will be watching and monitoring each contestant’s ability to be kind, have fun, and interact with the other contestants. Let your inner beauty shine!
Saturday, all contestants will be re-introduced on the Byng stage. Contestants will be expected to interact with the public, vendors and car show participants when not on stage. This will be part of the judging evaluation. From the contestants selection, the Top Five girls will be chosen based on Friday and Saturday performances. Finalists will be announced to the audience at 1:30pm on the Byng Stage and given one final chance to show their unique style. The 5 will be asked 1 out of 3 possible questions. (Questions will be provided ahead of time in the Contestant Information Package) to be evaluated by the judges.
The Finalists will have an opportunity to change their wardrobe for another on-stage appearance. On the Main Stage at 2:30pm, the Finalists will be asked another question for the judges to evaluate their responses. At 3:00pm, all contestants will again gather in front of the Main Stage. The top 5 will be on stage where the first, second and third place winners will then be announced. Crowing and photo opportunities will follow.
Contestants will be required to arrive on Friday August 16th, 2019 at the Crossroads of the Danforth BIA office (located at 3345 Danforth Road, Toronto, Ontario) at 5:00pm for a brief meeting. A quick orientation will occur and approval of all attire by The Wheels on the Danforth judging staff before moving to the stage area at Oakridge Park for Stage 1 of the contest.
